CLIMBING AREAS

As climbers in the southeast, we strive to preserve climbing areas for future generations. To ensure access later, our current actions are crucial.

As a climber in the southeast, I pledge to:

Consider others

I will be mindful of noise levels, wait my turn in crowded areas, share the crag with others, and respect the natural environment around me. I pledge to clean up my area and not disrupt nature.

Have minimal impact

I will make sure to leave areas better than I found them. I will make it a habit to clean my tick marks and brush holds after use.

Respect access regulations

I will adhere to the access rules or guidelines established by the SCC, landowners, and park authorities. I understand that every property, and my use of them, is different.

Stay on established trails

I will be mindful of surrounding natural areas, wildlife, and ecosystems by sticking to established trails and ensuring my pets are on a leash.

Be a positive example

I understand that my influence matters. Whether in-person at the crag or digitally, I will be conscientious of my actions by respecting others, myself, and climbing areas.

Be sure to check our climbing area closures page for current closures, reopening or changed operations. Always plan ahead for your trip by checking directly with the land manager website or ranger station before your visit to confirm access and any current restrictions.
