SUMMARY:National Trails Day at Sunset Rock
DESCRIPTION:Sunset Rock plays a very important role in SCC’s origin story. For many years, we have partnered up for National Trails Days to support this iconic Chattanooga crag. Please join us to keep the tradition alive and support our great relationship with the NPS! \nChickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, the American Hiking Society and the Southeastern Climbers Coalition are looking for volunteers for National Trails Day on Saturday, June 6. All volunteers are invited to meet at the Cravens House parking lot on Lookout Mountain at 9 a.m. Volunteers can expect to return to the parking lot at approximately noon.\nOfficials said, “Join National Park Service staff and other volunteers for a workday on the Cravens House Trail. This year’s project focuses on clearing exotic, invasive plants and other overhanging vegetation, along with general beautification of the trail.\nMeet: All volunteers are invited to meet at the Craven’s House at 9 am.\nStart Time: 9:00 AM Eastern Time\nEnd Time: 12:00 PM Eastern Time \nBring: Work gloves, reusable water bottle/water, snacks, bug spray, sunscreen\nWear: Sturdy closed-toe shoes, long pants/sleeves recommended\nPlease complete the SCC volunteer waiver prior to event: https://www.seclimbers.org/stewardship/\nEmail kara@seclimbers.org with questions.\n\nThis event is part of our Trail Daze of Summer Series sponsored by On the Road and Off.\nIf you come to any 4 trail days all summer at any location you’ll be entered to win HUGE prizes at the End of Daze Party to celebrate all our hard trail work at the end of the summer.\nThe End of Daze celebration will be held on August 24th at On The Road And Off Headquarters in Chattanooga. Come enjoy some food and beverages and celebrate all the hard work you put in maintaining our crags!\nSweat it out. Earn rock karma.
