you have probably heard through the grapevine -- and if you were at the recent HP40 Triple Crown event, Kurt Smith and Team SCC raised a box full of cash ($2,370) for a new crag that we now have under contract.

    What crag.... your asking?

Well, we dont mean to be overly secretive, but we cant let the cat out of the bag just yet as it is currently being surveyed and the ink on the contract is not even dry.

we dont want to mess anything up by announcing the crag name or location.. not just yet (we will announce at the Stone Fort Triple Crown comp with slideshow-video).

so for now... we are calling this area - Secret Crag X

EDIT: Not anymore folks! Crag X is YELLOW BLUFF! - P.M.

that said - we need a little bit of trust here - as our goal is to bring you another

Climber Owned - Climber Managed crag here in the deep and dirty South.

ya'll ready to open up another one?

    lets roll. Cool

Thanks Sean Cobourn of North Carolina for your pledge of $200. We greatly appreciate your support and all the work the Carolina Climbers Coalition have done to open up and purchase Laurel Knob.

This crag acquisition is 3 years in the making with an assortment of SCC volunteers working busily like bees behind the scenes to make this happen.

this was definetly a team effort, led by Paul Morley.

persistence pays in the end - we look forward to expanding your climbing opportunities.

    Thanks Sean! Cool

Ah, throw me in for $50. I'll probably never be down that way again, but now I'm extremely curious what 'X' is.

Better yet, make my $50 in OC's name in the hopes that he'll get to climb there.
